Choices Teams Up for CANstruction Vancouver's Design and Build CompetitionChoices Teams Up for CANstruction Vancouver's Design and Build Competition
Feb 24 to March 2, 2008 - VANCOUVER: It starts with one can. To feed the hungry. To lift the spirit. To change the world.
Vancouver's Edith Cavell Elementary School, Grade 5/6 (split) class teamed up with Choices Markets, Omni Engineering and Unicycle Creative in the 6th Year of CANstruction Vancouver's Design and Build Competition. The goal is to create a sculpture entirely from canned food with all the proceeds going to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Since 2003, a record 600,000 cans of food have been donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
This was a perfect opportunity to educate a keen group of students in public service, team work, nutrition, engineering, art and build awareness of the needs of many in our city. Choices’ own creation, “Organicus Prime”, even won the Can-Do award at the 2008 event!
