April 1, 2008 - VANCOUVER: Choices Markets Rice bakery presented a $1000 cheque to the Canadian Celiac association in support of “Growing up Gluten-Free”, an event dedicated to children and youth with gluten-intolerance.

Jean Arntorp, president of the Vancouver Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association, says “One of the mandates of the Canadian Celiac Association is to bring greater awareness of gluten intolerance to the medical community and the general population. We thank Choices Markets for their generous support of our events and awareness campaigns. Our members are especially grateful for the gluten-free products made at their Rice Bakery.”

Choices teams up for CANstruction Vancouver's Design and Build CompetitionChoices teams up for CANstruction Vancouver's Design and Build Competition

Feb 24 to March 2, 2008 - VANCOUVER: It starts with one can. To feed the hungry. To lift the spirit. To change the world.

Vancouver's Edith Cavell Elementary School, Grade 5/6 (split) class teamed up with Choices Markets, Omni Engineering and Unicycle Creative in the 6th Year of CANstruction Vancouver's Design and Build Competition. The goal is to create a sculpture entirely from canned food with all the proceeds going to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Since 2003, a record 600,000 cans of food have been donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
