June 2010 - KERRISDALE: Across the street from Choices’ Kerrisdale location, community members got together and hosted a summer boulevard bake sale and barbeque; Choices Markets participated in the event by donating the items for the barbeque. Strongly supported by the close-knit Kerrisdale community, this event raised over $1,000, which will go toward variety of community outreach programs including ASK Senior Centre, LOVE (Leave Out Violence Youth Group), and the Lower Mainland Grief Recovery Society to name a few. Sapperton Day FestivalSapperton Day Festival
June 2010 - NEW WESTMINSTER: For years, Choices has been helping out with the pancake breakfast at this annual festival. Bringing the Sapperton community together, this day-long event features entertainment, games and fun for the entire family. In addition, the event raised over $1,600 to benefit the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.

World Partnership WalkWorld Partnership Walk
May 2010 - STANLEY PARK VANCOUVER: Choices Markets proudly sponsored and took part in the Vancouver World Partnership Walk, Canada’s largest event dedicated to fighting global poverty. There were over 12,000 people who attended the Walk and the event raised over $500,000, all of which will be used for various projects that improve the lives of those living in poverty. May 2010 - SOUTH SURREY: Our South Surrey staff hosted a pre-Mother’s Day event where the public could build flower baskets for Mother’s Day. The event was a success with people from all over Metro Vancouver coming out to take part in the special event. Choices South Surrey also held a donation barbeque for those who stopped by. Just over $400 was raised and will be donated to the South Surrey/White Rock Women’s Place.

April 2010: Ayla Graham and Lisa Laventure—two brave young women—are setting out on a journey of a lifetime. On May 8, they’ll be heading out on a bike tour across Canada to raise money for heart health awareness. Bowling for Big Brothers and Big SistersBowling for Big Brothers and Big Sisters
March/April 2010: Choices staff set ‘em up and knocked ‘em down at the annual Bowl for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Earlier in March, Kelowna staff bowled for Big Brothers and Big Sisters and helped raise over $5,000 for the campaign. Then in April the staff in Metro Vancouver rallied together to raise over $2,000 at the annual Bowling for Big Brothers event.

March 2010: Choices thanks all customers and staff who purchased certified organic and fair trade Green Tribe blueberries between March 14–25. The net proceeds from these blueberry sales totalled over $11,000. Every net dollar was given directly back to the Chilean farmers of the Green Tribe Grower Coop. Your choice to purchase Green Tribe blueberries made it possible for earthquake survivors to access bare necessities and continue restoring their homes and communities.

February 2010 - SOUTH SURREY: A rainy day didn’t stop the staff at Choices Markets South from having an incredible hockey-filled day. The event took place in the parking lot at Choices South Surrey where about 30 people played between 18–20 games of hockey over the course of the afternoon. The staff also hosted a donation barbeque and held a raffle, raising over $900 in support of Semiahmoo Minor Hockey. Go team Choices!
